How Galserv helped bring the Eagle Shelter to life

Standing proudly within Kau-Ma Park in Fletcher, NSW, the Eagle Shelter has become a striking focal point in this culturally significant Aboriginal heritage conservation area. Completed in December 2016 for Northrop Consulting Engineers, the landmark structure is instantly recognisable by its sculptural, wing-like forms that rise above the landscape.

When Northrop needed a partner capable of delivering long-lasting protection and an impeccable finish across the Shelter’s many large, complex components, they turned to Galserv.

Galserv provided full-service support including sandblasting, hot-dip galvanising, loading, and delivery, ensuring every piece of the Artscape installation received maximum durability and weathering resistance. The scale and geometry of the fabricated wings posed unique handling and processing challenges, but Galserv’s expertise and facilities made light work of the task.

The result is a robust, corrosion-resistant finish designed to withstand the coastal environment for decades, helping secure the Eagle Shelter’s place as a meaningful and enduring feature of Kau-Ma Park.
